Nga Pou - Our Values

Nga Pou

RIFF showcases, promotes, and celebrates Maori and Pacific and International Indigenous filmmakers. The festival celebrates the latest works by Indigenous artists at the forefront of innovation in film.

RIFF works in collaboration with established Indigenous Film Festivals from around the world to bring the best in Indigenous filmmaking and artists to Rotorua.

The Festival’s screenings, panel discussions and social and cultural events attract and connect filmmakers, media artists, programmers, buyers and industry professionals. The works accepted reflect the diversity of the world’s Indigenous nations and illustrate the vitality and excellence of our art and culture in contemporary media.

RIFF will provide Indigenous filmmakers, media artists and curators with professional development opportunities in the form of workshops and other activities geared to enhancing creative and professional skills.

RIFF respects the integrity and intention of Indigenous artists and supports the artistic visions and perspectives of Indigenous artists working in the media arts.

RIFF acknowledges, promotes and respects cultural protocols.
